Ipek Ozkaya is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute and deputy lead of the Architecture Practices initiative. She develops effective methods for improving software development and system evolution by emphasizing software architecture practices, software economics, and agile development. Her recent research focuses on managing technical debt in large-scale, software-intensive systems. Ozkaya serves as chair of the advisory board of IEEE Software magazine and as an adjunct faculty member in the Master of Software Engineering Program at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). She holds doctorate and master’s degrees in Computational Design from CMU.
